Our Maths Functional Skills course is designed to develop the learner’s ability to represent situations using mathematics, analyse calculations, solve problems and interpret mathematics to explain situations.
Functional Skills Maths equip learners with the practical, transferable skills, knowledge and understanding in order to progress and succeed in education, work and life. Problem solving is at the heart of Functional Skills and the skills you will learn enable you to:
* Apply your knowledge and understanding to everyday life, in the workplace and in other real life situations.
* Engage competently and confidently with others
* Solve problems in both familiar and unfamiliar situations
* Develop personally and professionally
Functional Skills Maths includes sections on:
* Using numbers
* Understanding measure, shape and space
* Handling data
This course will suit you if you are a beginner, or want to work towards GCSE or other higher level English and Maths qualification. There are no formal entry requirements, but before you enrol you will have a short test with one of our teachers to help us decide what level is right for you.
